Here's what I wrote over at TDS about the health care debate:

About SU, I guess I got too personal in talking about his home and business. I know I didn't like it when I felt people were getting personal with me, so I should have known better.
It was hard, because on the one hand I felt bad as a friend about how upset he was, and i wanted to sympathize. But on the other hand, i thought he was enjoying the debate. In fact, several times when i tried to drop out of the political discussions, I felt like he tried to draw me back in. But I should have realized that it was too risky.

I think it just hit's SU harder than the rest of us. He's running his own business, and just can not afford this extra cost that the health care bill will hit him with.
I can see where a lot of small business owners are gonna get hit very hard. They just don't have the extra money for the health insurance this requires them to have.
In order to cover people that could have easily been added to Medicaid they instead enacted a law that will ruin guys like SU. Folks in his position won't stand a chance.....he's scrapping the bottom now keeping his truck running, and keep house, and home together.
It would have been much simplier to just add those not covered to Medicaid..... "they might as well have, we're gonna have to pay for 'em anyway".
Anyway, I don't think any of us meant to offend the other.........maybe he'll come back, I hope so. I like SU, he's a friend.....we need him back.
Maybe if we "tied a Burrito" to Entre's neck she wouldn't be quite so hard to take.
