Just took a bit to get caught up .... I have been over the road with SU since last Friday. We have made two trips to Florida .... Once to Jacksonville then back to Busselton, GA to pick up and deliver in Hollywood, FL ... which is the Miami area ...
We are headed home now ... should be there late tonight ... hopefully ...
SU will have the weekend home and then Monday picks up a load to head back to Auburn, Washington .... hopefully he will have good weather for traveling ....
He took some pics of the snow chains he carries on his truck so if they call for chains he has them and can use them .... but ... if they call for chains ... he usually just finds the first place to park and waits for the roads to clear ...
He is and has always been a safety motivated driver .... "Running Legal" .... One of the reasons he has not gotten into many accidents and the ones that he did were not his fault .... in over the 26 years we have been married he probably driven over 5 million miles .... but it has been with lots of different company's .... this time he has been with Landstar for over 9 years. August will be 10 years ...
Also ... one of the reasons he has gotten so upset at other truck drivers over the years and been put down so many times for making others look bad because he does the right thing ... Sad but on a good note ... another is because he can decide how and when to run since he is his own boss and no one can force him to do anything he feels is unsafe.
He has now driven over 1 million miles with no unavoidable accidents and they are giving him an award at Landstar Driver's Appreciation Days in Jacksonville, FL ...
Here is a copy of the letter he received .... I am very proud of "My SU"
No, that bridge was miles from London, the weather has been abnormally windy and rainy though, but warmer than usual for this time of year with it. I just get used to it and adapt as needed, it's like when we are hit by snow, it brings the country to a stall, but life has to go on, I am normally a fast driver and hates weather that slows me down, but when the situation dictates slower driving then I will adhere.
