I hope that it will work out ... he hasn't told or said anything to the place he is currently leased to yet ... so if things don't work out ... then he can go back to doing what we were doing ...
but he is hoping that being paid for every mile ... instead of not getting paid for the deadhead miles... will help out ...
Downside ... yup ... they lied .... we'll see .... But I'm thinking I'll like it .... there's a agent that I worked for from time to time where we did the same thing with Averet exspress.... I enjoyed doing it there ... UPS should run about be about the same ... just longer runs ...

So I get a phone call a little while ago ..... you know ... from my friend that went over to UPS and then called me to tell me how great it was .... the one I called just minutes before I signed the contract to make sure he was still happy .... freight was good ... and all that ...
No..no ... don't come over ... it's not good any more ... I'm going back to Landstar .... \\AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH .....
In less then two weeks time he has gone from completely satisfied , .... God has spread his grace on me ......to quiting ...
Now ... one are two things have happened here ...
1. UPS blew smoke up his ass and kept him happy just long enough so that it would cost him to much to move ... which is quite common in trucking .....
2. He is a complete idiot .... jumping because freight is a little slow right now due to the time of year .......
Now I have to figure out which and pray I make the right decision ......
If it were me, I would lean more towards #2. Every where is slow. UPS bought out some other trucking companies and absorbed their drivers so don't be suprised if the trailer says Overnite or Motor Cargo on the side.
Actually ... I'm thinking more toward number 1 .....
Reason why ...... control ..... The number one reason I went to Landstar was control .... What I heard in this guys voice was severe lack of it .... he's wanting to run and having to wait ... with Landstar .... if your not moving ... it's because your not wanting to .... no waiting on a dispatcher to go through a couple thousand drivers and get back to you .....
Listening to him and then thinking about it ..... I believe that is what would get me if I did go over there ..... Not to mention I herd about a show load that I might have a chance at .... will keep me paid all sumer .... With UPS .... I won't get chances like that .... I think I would miss the chase ...
Well it is back to the ole grind stone ... SU has decided to stay with his current company and retain me as his disbatcher / bookkeeper / accountant / sexatary ... LOL ... and it is back to hitting refresh every 30 seconds again ...
