So I'm sitting at the truck stop last night when this driver backs into the spot behind me ..... He knocks me out of the bunk ..... my truck forward about a foot ....
Think he evens comes back to apologize .... nope .... it's more important to roll down his passenger window and dump his pee bottle all over the truck next to him so that that driver has to walk through it to get in and out of his cab ....
Look peeps .... truck drivers are just kids that were raised by normal people in average neighborhoods .... Teach your kids some common courtesy and they won't get calls to their company explaining what kind of pigs they are .....
I don't know why, maybe I am naive, but I thought there would of been a certain amount of respect amongst truckers for other truckers, but I guess it is like anything else, there are good and bad in all walks of life.
Truck is fine ... just pissed me off at his non caring I guess ....
Perfectly normal people in an situation where know one knows them turn into different type of person .... At home they are the nicest person you ever met .... but perfect slobs on the road where no one knows them and they are not likely to see the folks they are around today ever again ,.... I should be used to this by now ... but it still bites me in the ass every now and then ....
But you should know the type ... I'm sure you have met them in forum life some where ...
It's needful to carry such things because some places will not let a truck driver use the restrooms on there property ..... Also road conditions sometimes force you to travels for hundred of miles on end without any place for a truck to park with facilities ....
Having the bottle is no different then having a restroom in a RV or a boat .... it's what you do with the end product that matters ....
RV'ers would not dump there tanks in the parking lot .... boaters are not supposed to dump their tanks in the water ... and drivers should use the nearest trash can so the waste can be transported to the local dump where septic company's dump there waste ...
Thinking about this thread today ... I remembered a discussion on a radio program The Canadian driver association was discussion trucks crossing the border into the US ....
It can take up to ten hours sometime .... One day ... a couple of drivers asked to use a restroom and were denied by US agents .... after eight hours one of the driver finally messed his pants .... which prompted the US agents to search the other one and finally escort him to a rest room and stood guard over him ... Not a bad way to treat people ... is it ???
I'm amazed by that. Really. I never had any idea how truckers were treated.
It vaguely reminds me of the whole Dust Bowl/Grapes of Wrath thing where normal, everyday people suddenly got marginalized just by virtue of their roles changing from farmer to migrant worker. It's like you become a trucker and now it's okay to treat you with no respect, or even human decency.
SU, I've always been under the impression that you're in business for yourself. Is that correct? My dad was always pointing out ways that the small businessman gets screwed because he was a small businessman and always felt like he was taking it up the butt. Now I'm starting to learn that if you're both a small businessman and a trucker, you get a double whammy.
It's not all bad .... There are places I go where I'm treated like family ..... You just have to be prepared for the occasional location where attitudes or lawyers take president .....
Yes ... I am a small business man .... and thats the way I run my truck ... which gets me in trouble sometime with truck drivers ..... You see .. by running safe and legal ... I've found that I can run less miles and make more profit by not blowing extra fuel out the stacks by running as hard as I can .... And with the price of fuel ... more and more drivers are coming around to my way of thinking ...... But I have lost a lot of friends because I won't run fifteen over to keep up .... I spend a hundred less on fuel on the tank... but other drivers think I'm ditching them because I don't like them .... LEO's treat me like I'm hiding something cause all truck drivers speed ... So I'm always in the middle ... such as life ...

BTW, do you ever go to the truck stop just off the Avery exit of the 405? (I THINK it's the Avery exit. It's between Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano.) I hear it's very popular in the trucking world. The whole street it's on is always filled with big trucks.
