Oh my gosh I am so embarassed. When I send a group email to other counselors, I generally copy the cc list from an email of my boss's. But today, I somehow opened the wrong email and copied the wrong cc list. That means that the email will go not only to the counselors, but to the whole organization.
Fortunately, it didn't really contain any confidential information. It was basically saying, "The police have confirmed the following information to be false..." But it is still sooooooooo embarassing. I am going to go to bed and curl up in fetal position.
Aw, that sounds good. I can only hope that I will have a "daddy's lap" of my own to curl up in some day. Or a "mommy's lap". I'm flexible.
Now I'm trying to decide whether to come clean, and confess to the person whose email list I accidentally copied (so if she realizes what I did, she won't complain to my boss), or to sit here and bite my nails, hour by hour, hoping nobody will notice or say anything.
See, the people NOT on my list may complain, OR they may delete and ignore. The people who ARE on my list may notice that the cc list is twice as big as it usually is, or they may not. If they DO notice, they may nicely bring it to my attention, or if they don't like me, complain to my boss.
Am I making any sense? I slept for a total of about 2 hours last night.
I'd wait it out instead of doing damage control. But plan on what to say if you have to say anything.
That is exactly what I did, and it worked out fine! (So far.)
I did get more relaxed hour by hour, and by last night I could sleep. My only fear is that someone who hates me may be saving this up to present to the boss at a strategic time.
No way. After the stories I've heard from you, I'll stick with office politics.
Actually, when I was in high school, I thought I wanted to go to the Dootson School of Trucking. But people kept telling me that a woman wasn't strong enough to be a trucker, so I went to college instead.
