This weekend proved to be a fruitful one, I helped in stopping a drunk driver from causing havoc for a while hopefully.
I went to my parents on Friday night for my dads 75th birthday, suddenly there was a loud bang from outside, my little sister ran out to see what had happened, then was at the front door the next minute talking to some guy, so I went to see what was going on. She said that the guy had witnessed a drunk driver crash into a car just around the corner, then carried on driving, so I went out to have a look. A guy from over the road had also come out because he heard it and his car was parked in front of the car that had been crashed into, he had walked up the road though, and at that time I never knew why. I asked my sister where he had gone and she told me he had gone to the van up the road that had it's lights on, that was the guy who had crashed, so I went up there as well, soon to be followed by my son, my nephew, my niece, and finally my sister. The drunken guy thought I was the owner of the car and became very apologetic before I even said a word, I said I was not, but that I was a concerned neighbour, I thought I would catch him off guard and quickly said, have you been drinking, he replied that he had had a couple of beers. He claimed he had pulled over to leave details on the car that he had hit, but the truth was he had seriously damaged one of his front wheels and could not drive any further, besides if he was going to leave details, he would of pulled over straight away, not half down the road. I hung around despite it being quite cold out, I was actually shivering, but I was not prepared to leave the other neighbour alone with him, because the drunken guy seemed to think that there was no need for all of us to be there, I wondered why he wanted fewer people so thought it was a good idea that I stayed there. Eventually the police turned up after 2 phone calls to them, done a breath test on him, put him into their van, questioned the rest of us, then we all left. My sister got a call later that night, the guy was three times over the legal limit, looks like we did the right thing by all being there and keeping him from going anywhere.
Thanks Moldy, I know exactly how he must be feeling now, because I was in the same boat about 20 years ago, just hope it cures his drink driving like it did me.
and others ... well .... just gets you into some deep shit .... with the person you were trying to help .... coming after you ... making you out to be the bad guy ....

It's a terrible life sometimes, isn't it.
You would much rather stay in NJ, I can tell.
Haha! Business travel isn't appealing to everyone, some people really hate it. But since I have responsibility to no one but myself, I love the travel that goes with my job. Sometimes it gets tedious with fight delays and sitting next to stinky people on planes, but I'd rather deal with that than being tied down to one spot all the time.
Todays tale.....................yesterday I gave my son back 200 quid that I owed him, today I borrowed 180 quid of it back again to buy a couple of new TFT monitors, it was worth it though, they are awesome.
