Finally ... hinges lose and it broke the wire to the power button .... but I keep a back up .... a new Eee PC thats really small and about 5 years old but never used

Solder wire that is just a little bit thicker around it/ wrap the little wire in thicker wire then cover it with hot solder........might work.
WOW ... got my computer to come back on ... all I had to do is cross up the wires to the power button and she works just fine .... now if I can just figure out how to send it into sleep or hibernation and wake it back up without using the power button, I'll be OK until I can get it somewhere to repaired those wires ...
