So I'm sitting at the marshaling yard for The World Congress Center this morning ...... As usual ... there a group of drivers standing around talking waiting to be unloaded .... Some of these guys have been there for a couple of days ....
Any way .... I jump out and head to the building with the sign on it .... Drivers Lounge ...... As I walked by the group .... one of the drivers ask me where I was headed ... I said to the restroom ....
Then they explain to me that there is only one restroom on the premises and the drivers were not allowed to use it ...
Now ... the rules are ... you get to the yard asap ..... you have to stay with your truck for days on end till they decide it's time for your load ..... If you leave and miss your turn ... you loose all your detention time ... not to mention your booth is late setting up ...
The decorator has a mobile office set up on the yard to keep up with the trucks and restricts the only restroom available ....
So I walk up to the door .... remove the sign and step inside to do my business .... On the way back to my truck .... I tell them that if they lock the door .... to go to the office door and use it as a target ......
We are people ... not fucking cattle .....
A few weeks back ... a driver was telling how a group got together and started mooing like cows until they were allowed a few human necessities ....
That doesn't even make any sense. You'd be pleased with me, SU. At work, there's a door in my kitchen that leads into the plant product holding area, and sometimes truckers get lost somehow and come walking into the kitchen by mistake. If I'm cooking something, I always offer them something to eat. Most of them say no, but they always say thank you.
No way ... I don't believe it ... A trucker finding his way to you by mistake ...
Trust me ... it was planed .....
BTW ... it's not the only place ... I have a friend a few years back that he had to threating to take a dump in the back of one of their empty trailers after 12 hours on their lot ....
Just some people ......Could be they came across a rude driver once and decided all drivers were rude ...... mostly .... I think it has to do with power trips though....
but it is not only women that show off to truck drivers ... I can't remember how many times SU has showed me a guy showing off his stuff as he passes by ... and when they see me they speed up or slow down ... LOL ...
of course the girls do the same thing ... but they cover up quickly ... the guys just speed up or slow down .. LOL
