Three Truck Drivers go into a motel and decide to split the cost of a room. The Clerk explains that a room for the night is $30.00 dollars. So each driver pulls out $10.00 for his share of the room, and writes in his expense log $10.00 Room & Board.
The clerk then has the Bell Hop take their bags up to their room, at which time the drivers stiff him on his tip.
Later that evening, the clerk figures out the he overcharged the drivers on their rate, and calls for the Bell Hop to take Five $1.00 dollar bills to the drivers as a refund. The bell hop decides to help himself to a tip of two dollars and gives each driver a one dollar refund.
So each driver changes his expense log from $10.00 to $9.00 Room & Board.
So if each driver paid $9.00 each for a total of $27.00 and the Bell Hop kept two dollars for himself for a total of $29.00 dollars.
What happened to the other one dollar that would make the total of $30.00 dollars that was originally paid for the room.
